$1.1 Million in Parish & School Improvements
In the aftermath of a school shooting not far from the Parish, leadership was eager to find resources aimed at improving school security and increasing enrollment. Symphony Advancement identified several funding resources and contract opportunities which would upgrade existing school and parish sites, and provide ongoing financial assistance to working parents in need of daytime care. New investments in both the Parish and School include:
- Historic renovation of the Church building including new accessible entrance and bathrooms
- Security updates including new cameras, access control systems, new exterior doors, lighting and alarms
- State licensing support, policy work and training to enable working parents to utilize the preschool program with government payment assistance
- Funding to support school marketing and a new staff admissions director
- Funding to support after school programming including academic support services, parent programs, faculty training and new technology investments.
$1.6 Million in Capital Improvements
Transitioning from a youth foster care organization to an adult care program serving women with intellectual and developmental disabilities required a series of capital updates to existing facilities throughout the campus. A Religious Order contacted Symphony Advancement to provide assistance in identifying grant resources and managing projects over a five year period. When completed, the final scope of improvements included:
- ADA and accessibility improvements to classrooms, meeting space, bathrooms and the sports complex.
- Campus wide security upgrades include new cameras, access control, training and emergency response policies.
- HVAC system updates.
- New fire suppression systems.
- Program support and staff salary funding.
- Marketing services targeting new clients.
- Policy and licensing support allowing the organization to receive low and no-income clients requiring government payment assistance.
$2.2 Million in Church & School Improvements
This urban Church purchased several acres of property including buildings in need of updates. The Pastor’s dream was to revitalize the community by opening a high performing school and making the campus a ministry center serving the local neighborhood. Symphony Advancement identified a number of grants and contract resources allowing the Church to update the school buildings, increase campus safety, expand school programming, and launch a workforce training initiative. A long term client, this organization’s success stories include:
- Over $500,000 in funding for academic services, technology investments and new staff positions
- A new workforce training program providing hi-tech vocational training to high school students, recent graduates and adults transitioning careers
- Nearly $500,000 in campus security updates including: protective window coating, security cameras, access control, fencing and staff training
- Annual fund management
- Special event management
$6.5 Million for Vocational Training Programs
This small liberal arts college had a reputation for outstanding design programs and wanted to grow enrollment. Partnering with Symphony Advancement leadership outlined a plan to engage local business leaders including many Fortune 500 firms and provide hands on training opportunities to students at the school. The project secured a $6.5 million grant awarded after a highly competitive national contest. Only a dozen investments were made across the entire country.
- Today, students have the opportunity to work with organizations including Kohler and Harley Davidson designing new products and prototypes.
- The grant remains the single largest award in the history of the college.
$2.5 Million In Parish Improvements
Following the carjacking of an employee one afternoon, parish leadership reached out to discuss a security assessment and improvements to the campus. Symphony Advancement identified several grant opportunities and coordinated a parish Capital Campaign resulting in $2.5 million in campus improvements. The final scope of work included:
- Restoration of historic parish center building and meeting spaces
- Installation of ornamental fencing and motorized access gates
- New surveillance and access control systems
- ADA accessible entry, bathrooms and elevator
- Major donor meetings
- Parish weekend events

- Over a half million dollars in updates to building windows, doors, electrical & internet systems
- Funding for early childhood education programs
- Grants to support marketing and enrollment
- Installation of a new greenhouse
$600,000 in Church & School Updates
When this famous pastor arrived at his new parish, the remote location and age of the facilities gave him cause for concern. Symphony identified several grant and funding sources resulting in improvements across the campus. Select updates include:
